Endomorphs generally have a very difficult time losing fat with diet alone. Unfortunately, we have the body types that are not necessarily forgiving when it comes to falling off the wagon. Without the proper fuel all those hard workouts will be wasted and we’ve all been there before and that’s what we are trying to avoid. Yes, I did say nutrition and that’s because your physique is 80% what you do in the kitchen and 20% what you do in the gym. Next up is the MOST important area of sculpting a beautiful Endo or Endo/Meso body and that is NUTRITION. I’m always finding something new to try and am happy to share it with you! To get you started here is a High Intensity Full Body Transformation Program from Fitness RX. Because I have very endomorphic/mesomorphic qualities, my body stores fat easily, gains muscle easily, so I need a good mix of lots of cardio, and lots of high repped-hard weighted exercises.” Emily uses an integrated conditioning workout that will have your heart racing and muscles burning. According to fitness model Emily Stirling over at Simply Shredded, “Mostly I do AM cardio, and do cardio intervals throughout my weight workout. That means your cardio and weight training sessions need to be more intense. We can’t be like those guys in the gym who do a few reps and then stand around for 10 minutes, that’s not going to work! It also means you need to eat smaller meals throughout the day to keep your metabolism constantly on the move. There are more resources here and here for planning your training and nutrition program for your specific body type.Įndomorphs tend to have a more sluggish metabolisim than the rest of the body types so it’s very important to keep that metabolism cranked up at all times. For proof remember this picture from our before lives? He was a total Endomorph! Needless to say I found the theory very interesting and decided to do some research on it the following day. Since my husband is currently in shape he looks more like the Mesomorph, but I knew deep down, left to his own devices and no accountability, he could be a pudgy Endomorph. I first came across this theory about training and eating for your body type one night when the hubby and I were perusing books at our local B&N, one of our favorite hobbies, when he came up to me and asked, “Do you think I’m a Mesomorph or an Endomorph?” I quickly glanced over at the pictures he was showing me, but to be honest I had a hard time basing his frame on two pictures- one of a fat man and one of an athletic one. Incase you’re wondering, no -it is not usual that there would be an Ecto/Endo body type since one is naturally tall and lean and the other is the opposite. Or the lucky hour-glass shaped ladies who are Endo/Mesos. To get even more specific there is the ability to be a mix of body types like a potential Ecto/Meso- naturally tall, thin and athletic in build. There are your lucky tall and thin Ectomorphs, the lucky still athletic-looking Mesomorphs and then your more rotund, not very lucky bunch of the rest of us called Endomorphs. If so, I may have just the change you’re looking for.Īccording to researchers most people fall into one of three categories for their body type. Unfortunately though you may be one of many who have answered yes to such frustration. I don’t know if you’re like me, but have you ever spent long periods of time at the gym only to see minimal or no results? Or, perhaps, you’ve stuck to a diet so strictly you wouldn’t have a bite of cake at your sister’s wedding, but the pounds still didn’t come off? I hope you can reply an emphatic, “No!” to both of those questions.
